Stacy was indispensable to the writing and production of a debut novel now on Amazon. It was written by my son who is in prison. Neither my son nor I knew what the first step was in publishing a quality book, nor how it could be achieved under such difficult circumstances.

We used both pieces of Stacy’s remarkably effective offerings: first, her book “The Memoir Midwife: Nine Steps to Self-Publishing Your Book” to understand and implement the “how to” of the actual publishing process. And, secondly, her private consulting services in working with my son on improving story structure, character development, and general first class mentoring and editing. She did all this while adapting to the extremely difficult communication process of working with a Federal prisoner.

Stacy was a pleasure to work with, adapting to and advancing our level of understanding about what it takes to get a book on a shelf. She was dedicated and readily available as issues arose, and very adept in solving multiple problems, such as how do you get a book edited effectively when you have only snail mail and paper with which to communicate and can’t actually speak with the author. Thanks to Stacy, I am now a three-time self-published author. Her publishing class, book (“The Memoir Midwife: Nine Steps to Self-Publishing Your Book”), and continual guidance and support gave me the tools, and most importantly, the confidence to take on this venture.

Without her, I would have fumbled, spent way too much time trying to figure out what to do, and would have given up. Actually, I wouldn’t have even started, because I had no idea what the self-publishing world really looked like and I would have been too intimidated to dive into it blindly.

Stacy’s ongoing support, cheerleading, and honest, but constructive, criticism have made her someone that I will always refer to as my mentor (and my reason for being able to be a successful author).

As a newly published author, I look back on my experience with Stacy as one of awe and gratefulness. I truly believe that if I had not had her step in as my Accelerated Author Coach, the pile of words and papers on my desk may never have come to fruition. Working with Stacy has given me the satisfaction of opening up that shipping box with my new book inside it. I can’t even begin to describe that feeling of accomplishment. However, once I saw the results of all my hard work and Stacy’s assistance, I literally said to myself, “Time to write my next book!” Her editing skills, coaching, and her whole mentoring process have been a happy dream come true for me!!
